Mental Health and Working Life

Seminar with David Casey, DeCare’s Wellness and Health Promotion Manager, on Mental Health and overall well-being in work

Mental Health Toolkit

The seminars are accompanied by our mental health toolkit and podcast series, in conjunction with the Community Foundation and Bank of Ireland.

Mental health is fundamental to our collective and individual ability as humans to think, emote, interact with each other, earn a living and enjoy life. Our social, psychological, and biological factors determine the level of mental health of a person.

Poor mental health is seen and also associated with rapid social change, stressful work conditions, gender discrimination, social exclusion, unhealthy lifestyle, physical ill-health and human rights violations.

Positive Mental Health promotes a safe culture and safe environment, where an employee feels comfortable in disclosing any mental health problems, feels able to ask for any support needed, and is assured that their disclosure of such an illness will not have a negative impact on their career.

We discuss these and other issues, in this seminar.

Below please find a toolkit and podcasts on these and other mental health and employment topics.
